Suzuki GSX-R 250 2017: initial information

Surprise in January in China, the GSX-R 250 expected at first at Auto Expo in India was finally unveiled at Eicma in Italy! The small sporty Suzuki motorcycle will land next April at less than € 5,500 in dealerships in France. Presentation.

The GSX-R 250 will be imported to Europe and France, in the same configuration as the Suzuki factory in Changzhou (China) … the "MotoGP" decoration and more !

As predicted ten months ago, the little sister of the all-new GSX-R 1000 – but big sister of the unveiled last month at Intermot in Germany – steals its twin cylinder from the Inazuma. Slightly revised, the watermill wins the regulatory mention "Euro 4" … and 1.4 Nm in passing (23.4 Nm therefore) !

In addition to the injection and the exhaust – catalyst, in particular -, the intake valves would have been finely reworked in order to optimize the air flow in the combustion chamber. The maximum power remains far from that of the "mille 4-cylinder": 25 hp (18.4 kW), or as much as the original roadster..

Simple and efficient ? -, the cycle part consists of a tubular steel frame, Kayaba suspensions – "tuned for the GSX-R250", ensure the Yellow Hamamatsu – and Nissin calipers that bite a pair of discs with a sporty cut . We appreciate the presence of 10-spoke rims, very successful too, but we regret the absence of the "Full LED" lighting of the GSX-R125.

The ABS system – compulsory in Europe – comes from the German brand Bosch and the tires with the original tread patterns from the Japanese brand IRC … The origin of the LCD panel which acts as a dashboard – very complete – is however not specified. The traif is not known with exactitude either: "it will be slightly less than 5500 €", nevertheless indicates Suzuki France to MNC.
