April Group has just acquired 75% of the capital of AMT Assurances, the broker specializing in motorcycle insurance. The company headed by Philippe Chaussonnière thus becomes a subsidiary of April Group, which continues to diversify into the insurance niches..

AMT Assurances, the wholesale broker specializing in motorcycle insurance based in Tours and managed by Philippe Chaussonnière, has just sold 75% of its capital to April Group, the French leader in insurance services which has pursued for five years a strategy of diversification on niche insurance markets.

"Our motorcycle insurance solutions will be referenced with April’s 11,000 partner brokers", provides AMT Assurances which intends to increase"considerably the visibility of our products" in "accessing new markets".

AMT Assurances, which claims 30,000 policyholders (i.e. 3% of the motorcycle and quad insurance market share), achieved in 2005 a turnover of 2.6 million euros for a net profit of 580,000 euros . It currently employs 23 people in Tours and relies on a network of 1,350 brokers and 200 partner dealers..

SA April Group, founded and chaired by Bruno Rousset in 1988, today claims more than 2.5 million policyholders. Listed on the Paris Stock Exchange, in 2005 it achieved a turnover of 445 million euros for a net profit of 54 million.
