Motorcycle license - 11 Honda models for A2 license holders - Used HONDA

On January 19, 2013, the new A2 motorcycle license will only give access to certain models. Here is the list of Honda motorcycles and scooters corresponding to motorcycle category A2: not more than 35 kW and a power / weight ratio less than 0.2 kW / kg.

January 19, 2013 marks a turning point in the history of the motorcycle license: as part of European harmonization, the A license undergoes changes that Site readers – who, as everyone knows, are a little more fortunate than others – already know by heart (read).

The creation of an intermediate category called A2 (between the A1 125 cc license and the A license) is the main novelty. It is "motorcycles with or without sidecar of a power not exceeding 35 kilowatts and whose power / weight ratio does not exceed 0.2 kilowatt per kilogram. Power cannot result from restraining a vehicle developing more than twice its power".

At Honda, eleven new models meet the standards of this new A2 category that young bikers will have to attend for two years, before going if they wish, the training of the "real" license A. Site lists it for you..

The cost of clamping / unclamping

"None of our "A2" models exceeds 35 kW, so there is no additional cost associated with the adoption of a specific kit, as could be the case on the CBF600 or Hornet due to the old French limitation of 25 kW (34 hp)", points out Honda France.

"Even the NC700X ABS, which developed 38 kW last year, will now be delivered as standard in 35 kW.", even the Reds tell us."As the legislation is now pan-European, Honda adapts its range accordingly, without resorting to clamping".

If this approach offers the advantage of being simpler for everyone (customers, dealers, manufacturers … and journalists!), It must prove itself from a commercial point of view. Other manufacturers – "Greens" in particular – have taken the opposite view by restraining their "bestZeller" … The bets are open !
