Of course, I feel safest when both feet are in complete contact with the ground. But at 1.58 meters, this is not the case with very few motorcycles. The ball of the foot on both sides is a luxury.

In the following you can see which motorcycle can be found in which picture gallery, whereby the galleries are sorted chronologically according to trade fair dates. However, all models in the galleries are also sorted into one of the following three lists below: Motorcycle recommendations for small women and men, for advanced riders, unsuitable motorcycles.
Low seat height is not everything
In addition to the not new knowledge that the choice of motorcycles for short women (and short men) is simply limited, there are also the following: low seat height does not mean the same “good ground contact”. This can be due to the width of the motorcycle, footrests in the way, wide bench seats or high and hard bench edges. So if you want to find out which motorcycle is suitable based on seat height information, you will only get a first clue.
Another criterion is the manual force required on the clutch lever. Because even outside of the city, stop-and-go traffic without winding through is sometimes the order of the day. And also not to be underestimated: stopping at the red light: I often ride motorcycles on which I can only touch the ground with one foot. My stable leg is the left one. So if the road does not drop to the left and there are no ruts against it, my left foot always goes on the ground while my left hand keeps the clutch lever pulled. That is why it is clever when manufacturers make sure that the clutch is easy to operate, especially for motorcycles for small women and men. The selection of the models sat for rehearsals (see picture gallery, part 3) was easy: Everything that was in the MOTORRAD editorial garage that day in May 2018 had to serve. 17 models have come together. Motorcycle recommendations for little women
In the first table you will find a list of the models in which, with my height of 1.58 meters, I can get at least the toes on both sides of the floor. With models like the BMW G 310 R that’s a tight box, but since the Bavarian is nice and slim and really easy to handle when standing, she belongs on this list.
Pleasing: Kawasaki even manages with the 1000 series that little motorcyclists feel safe even when standing still. And Triumph follows in model year 2019 with the Street Twin and Street Scrambler, which are not among the lowest, but like the Kawas are particularly narrow around the middle.

Another criterion that I value is the manual force required on the clutch lever. I often ride motorcycles on which I can only touch the ground with one foot. My stable leg is the left one. In stop-and-go traffic and stopping at the red traffic light, the following applies: if the road does not drop to the left and there are no ruts against it, my left foot always goes on the ground while my left hand keeps the clutch lever pulled. That is why it is clever when manufacturers make sure that the clutch is easy to operate, especially for motorcycles for small women.
For advanced little women and men
Some experienced motorcyclists don’t care if they feel the ground under the soles of their boots on both sides. It takes practice, trust and courage. Especially the female drivers with maneuvering and parking routine have a great advantage and thus expand their motorcycle selection immensely. The list can also give you a few clues as to which bikes might become your dream motorcycle if they are padded or lowered.
Toe or toe? Yes, that makes a huge difference. When it comes to “Paddle” goes for example. And if you have enough routine, you probably don’t have to paddle, which is why bikes that only allow two-sided tip-toe or one-sided tip-toe contact come into question.
