The tried and tested becomes even sharper
The Yamaha MT-09 remains technically largely the same, but gets a new, razor-sharp look. The MT-10 comes as an SP version with the technology of the YZF-R1M.

Yamaha presented a newly styled MT-09 and the new MT-10 SP in Cologne. The three-cylinder MT-09, presented for the first time in 2013, has, in the truest sense of the word, received a facelift. The most striking feature is the completely redesigned, clearly more aggressively styled front with inclined LED double headlights.
Also at the stern of the Yamaha The knife was attached to MT-09: The new one is 30 millimeters shorter, which makes it look more compact and stocky. The slipper clutch and the standard shift assistant for quick upshifts without using the clutch are technically new. The quickshifter was taken directly from the YZF-R1.
Further technical changes were made to the 41 mm USD fork (rebound and compression damping now in separate fork legs) and to the silencer. The basic data of the 850 cubic three-cylinder engine remained the same. The new MT-09 in gray / neon, blue and black is due to go on sale in December. Yamaha has not yet named a price.

The MT-10 presented a year ago was accompanied by a super sporty sister model called the Yamaha MT-10 SP at INTERMOT. Based on the YZF-R1M, the Yamaha MT-10 SP offers its electronic Ohlins chassis and a cockpit with the most modern TFT display.
The standard MT-10 will be upgraded for 2017 by the standard shift assistant. Again, no prices are known yet.
Somewhat surprisingly and almost by the way, Yamaha also announced that it would present a new super sports car on October 13th, i.e. between the major trade fairs. It should probably be a Yamaha YZF-R6.
