In addition to a slight facelift inspired by the review last year, the Street 2017 adopts a 3-cylinder which goes from 675cc to 765 cc and which derives from that of the late. This engine releases "80 new parts" and develops 113 to 128 hp and 73 to 77 Nm of torque depending on the version (below), against 106 hp and 69 Nm previously. The all-aluminum chassis receives an "all-new curved swingarm for improved stability at high speeds." The dry weight of 166 kg (about 180 kg all full) is down 2 kg, despite a tank capacity of 17.4 l identical to 2016. This reduction promises great agility to this roadster that was not lacking not, as welcomed by MNC during our  !

As indicated by MNC there are already following "leaks", the Street Triple 2017 also adopts a new electronic accelerator offering several driving modes (two on the S, four on the R and five on the RS), traction control, a new 5 "TFT color screen dashboard with viewing angle adjustment (R and RS), a new control unit with 5-position joystick (R and RS), as well as a quickshifter and a stopwatch (RS). The R and RS models also feature a narrower caster angle (23.9 ° versus 24 ° 8 on the S) and are fitted with a new anti-dribble clutch which "lightens the load and reduces lever effort for the pilot for more control and comfort ", assures Triumph.

ABS can be completely disconnected on the R and RS models thanks to the customizable "Rider" driving mode (ABS "Road" and "Track"). The three versions are distinguished by their endowment of equipment and their different power: the standard model "S" of 113 hp is fitted with axial calipers and a non-adjustable fork, the "R" of 118 hp receives more electronics. evolved as well as higher-end suspensions and brakes while the RS with 123 hp exhibits among others an Olhins mono-shock (Showa on S and R), Brembo M50 monobloc calipers and Pirelli Supercorsa SP tires (all details below).

A new engine to distance the competition … and get closer to Moto2 ?

With this enticing Street Triple boosted to 765cc, Triumph will be able to respond to the rise in power of competitors like the Yamaha MT-09 and the arrival of the new Kawasaki Z900, also clearly "muscular" for 2017. Moreover, its new Will three-cylinders be used to power them, as several sources insist? Still, an announcement should be made on the sidelines of the first Grand Prix in Qatar, on March 26, to announce the engine manufacturer who will replace Honda,: however, some MotoGP leaders have already confirmed that would not be a manufacturer already present currently…

This precison consequently excludes the Yamaha track, first logical choice considering the fact that its R6 is there. According to the "", Triumph would equip the Moto2 with a three-cylinder of around 750cc – like that of the Street 2017 – which would develop in the 160 hp. That is significantly more than the 128 hp for the outdated 4-cylinder, moreover much larger than a "Triple". Stay connected !
