Developed as a priority to put its piloting within the reach of all – well almost: the current Z 1000 still develops 125 hp and 10.2 Nm of full torque! -, the 2010 Z 1000 would not have been designed around the hunt for power and weight, but rather "by focusing on the excitement that the daily riding of a sports bike can provide, thus resulting in a maximum driving pleasure ", assures Kawasaki.

ZX-10R 2010: slight alterations…

The only Japanese motorcycle not to play at the forefront in the World Superbike, the ZX-10R boasts an engine with unanimously acclaimed performance and character … as well as a more contested angular design..

Good news for fans of the green bomb: the 998 cc four-cylinder still develops the trifle of 200 hp with the Ram Air and its injection would have received attention from the engineers.

The gearbox is modified for smoothness and precision, while a new Ohlins steering damper will take care of the ardor of the Japanese thoroughbred. !

According to the only photo available today, the most significant changes concern the design of the ZX-10R 2010: its front panel is reminiscent of that of the ZX-6R of 2009 (read our), itself inspired by the lines of the ZX-10R of 2008 (it follows in the background?) … The sides of the fairings seem more indented while the silencer shows a new design and a metallic gray tint: enough to take off the sales of the Japanese hypersport in France ?

2010 GTR 1400: more sophisticated and more comfortable !

A true flagship of the Kawasaki road range (read our), the 2010 GTR 1400 incorporates a unique anti-skid system called KTRC, responsible for preventing the rear wheel from escaping. A priori welcome help, given that the four-cylinder 1353 cc still develops 155 hp in free version !

In addition, to stop effortlessly and without risk the full 308 kg made of this comfortable and well-finished GT, Kawasaki has equipped it with its "2nd generation K-ACT co-active assisted" ABS, whose sensitivity is variable over two positions according to driving conditions and riding style.

Born to devour asphalt, the GTR 1400 receives a larger windshield and heated grips as standard. Thanks to a new design of the fairings, the heat dissipation of the engine would have been improved, as well as the rearview. 

Finally, "to encourage the driver to adopt a more environmentally friendly driving style" are progressing – logically! – the Greens, the 2010 GTR 1400 will also have an "Eco" driving indicator: in the event of excessive consumption, the pilot can choose an "economic driving assistance" mode which will modify the injection map to favor "the better energy efficiency ".

Versys 2010: more adventurous ?

Camped on suspensions with greater travel and new rims, the 2010 Versys does not contrast radically with the old model (read our). Some minor cosmetic differences appear here and there (fork crown, optics, top of the fairing more enveloping), but the small Japanese trail retains its original face discovered in July 2006.

Kawasaki nevertheless assures to have improved the comfort in duo, the overall finish and the vision returned by the mirrors. Playful and intuitive on small roads, the 2010 Versys should also take advantage of its higher windshield to spare the pilot’s vertebrae during long journeys..

KLX110 2010: more powerful and more efficient

Mini cross-bike, the Kawasaki KLX110 sees the power of its 112 cc 4-stroke single cylinder increased and its redesigned four-speed gearbox. Intended for the youngest or for lovers of "minis", the KLX110 also adopts new rear suspension settings and reworked general ergonomics.

Availability dates

Unveiled two weeks ago on the Journal moto du Net, the sympathetic KLX 125 and D-Tracker (read) will thus try to seduce young people or city dwellers sensitive to their lines inspired by cross and enduro machines from the start of year 2010.

Before that, the second generation of GTR 1400 and the enticing mini-moto KLX 110 will land in dealerships at the end of 2009 / beginning of 2010 respectively, while the revisited Ninja ZX-10R will make its appearance in November..
