E-scooters for today and tomorrow

At Yamaha, too, the two-wheeler future will be partially electric. The Japanese are showing electrically powered scooters at the Tokyo Motor Show – both as concept vehicles and as a series model.

Tea Yamaha E01 is a sporty, electrically driven commuter model for the city – in terms of performance comparable to a 125 cc scooter – can be charged quickly and should offer a long range, comfort and much more when driving within the city. The design, the high step-through and the large wheels are a bit reminiscent of the Max scooter models from Yamaha.

The also electrically powered Yamaha E02 competes at 50 cm³ level. The compact scooter for city traffic relies on a removable battery for charging. Here, too, Yamaha relies on a sporty cut and large wheels.

In addition to these two e-scooter concepts, Yamaha is also showing the production version of the E-Vino e-scooter, which is also in the 50s segment. It has two operating modes that adapt to the driving conditions and a boost function that provides additional performance uphill.

Yamaha has also announced two more world premieres, which will not be revealed until October 23, 2019.
