For emerging countries ?

Our readers already know: Triumph, like most motorcycle manufacturers, has broadened its horizons by opening branches in South America and India, in order to carve out a slice of this appetizing cake (read in particular).

At the time of this "strategic positioning", MNC was already wondering about the relevance for the British manufacturer to design a medium displacement motorcycle on site – at low cost – to meet local demand..

"To my knowledge, there is no such project, but I cannot rule out that there are market studies being carried out", Jean-Luc Mars, CEO of Triumph France, told us at the end of 2011. This new Triumph is quite small and its liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine takes up little space. The bike also exhibits peripherals of modest size and no frills (telescopic fork of small diameter, single disc and axial caliper at the front): so many clues that suggest a displacement between 250 and 400 cc..

The presence of radiator scoops and a small shoe placed under the mono also betray a certain care taken in the presentation.

MNC will undoubtedly know a little more about this direct competitor of the sparkling at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan, and in particular to which market (s) it is intended. However, it seems improbable to us that Triumph will only restrict it to emerging countries and that it will not enrich the manufacturer’s European offer … To be continued: stay tuned !
