Motorcycle news: the key figures of the Royal Enfield Himalayan
The unique Royal Enfiel Himalayan, partly discovered through "appetizer" videos, reveals all its technical characteristics and lines in final version. The Indian trail, powered by a new 411 cc single-cylinder, is clearly in the backpacker segment.

24.5 hp and 32 Nm of torque for 182 kg
As explained, the Himalayan is powered by a 411 cc air-oil cooled 4-stroke single cylinder (the exchanger is installed in a vertical position on the left). Named "LS410", this long stroke motor (78×86 mm) is low compressed (9.5: 1).
This mono appears – unsurprisingly for a Royal Enfield – quite basic in design with its single camshaft distribution, its power supply via an antique carburetor (not really up to the latest standards!) And its 5-speed gearbox. The clutch is on the other hand a "modern" multidisc in oil bath..
Logically, the performance matches with a power of 24.5 hp at 6500 rpm and a torque of 32 Nm at 4000/4500 rpm.
Values very close to realized from the teasing videos of this trail similar in his mind to and .
Soon in Europe with injection and ABS ?
The official presentation of this new Royal Enfield Himalayan is scheduled for February. Its price and availability will then be communicated, as well as the markets for which it is intended. As it stands, its marketing in France seems complicated due to the absence of ABS – compulsory on new motorcycles over 125 cc in Europe – and of the fuel supply by carburettor, not very compatible with recent Euro4 standards..
