New Ducati Streetfighter V4 2021: a little greener and S all black

Tested and approved by Site upon its release in June 2020, the Streetfighter V4 is already changing! Ducati has revised its engine mapping and its exhaust in order to comply with the Euro5 standard. The top-of-the-range S model adds a black Dark Stealth colorway. Presentation.

Five little months ago. Staggering performance, ease of handling and disconcerting operation, in particular thanks to its advanced electronics: the new maxisportif and maxidocile maxiroadster from Ducati made a very strong impression on us.

Arrived in the wake of our first test in the French dealerships, the "top" Italian model is already forced to evolve … to erase the weak points stated by MNC (noise of the problematic engine, tariff become stratospheric and turning radius shit …)? Let’s see.

"With the arrival of 2021, all motorcycles in the Ducati Streetfighter V4 range (standard and S model) become compliant with Euro 5 anti-pollution regulations, keeping the maximum power and torque values ​​unchanged, but repositioned at different regimes ", inform us the Italians.

In this new Euro5 configuration available from November 2020, the Desmosedici Stradale still develops 208 horsepower but at 13,000 rpm (Vs 12,750 rpm on Euro4) and 123 Nm from … 9,500 rpm, or 2,000 turns lower than the first version! Some customers will see red, no ?

"These values, obtained thanks to a new calibration and the new exhaust, make the bike even more pleasant on winding roads", underlines Ducati, whose engine manufacturers have optimized the catalysts (larger by 1 cm, better capacity of conversion of polluting gases) without touching the silencer.

In order to "minimize the ignition time of the catalytic converter, while maintaining the performance of the engine unchanged", the rear displacement manifolds have been shortened (by 10 cm!) And refined (from 42 to 38 mm).

"The new component allowed the introduction of a more compact rear heat shield integrated into the body of the bike," details the Bologna brand. Likewise, "four lambda sensors have been integrated, one for each cylinder, which allow more accurate control of the quantity of fuel injected".

Ducati took the opportunity to fit new front brake and clutch master cylinders, "both self-bleeding and derived from those first used on the Superleggera V4". Which also risks pumping the air of owners of the Streetfighter V4 2020…

Finally, a new "Dark Stealth" colorway makes its appearance in the 2021 catalog, on the Streetfighter V4 S page. It is the "top" model equipped with Ohlins electronic suspensions and a pair of forged Marchesini aluminum rims, demanding thus 3000 euros more than the standard (available in red only at the price of 19 990 euros).

Price question precisely, Site wishes to avoid any misunderstanding: unlike its friends, the Streetfighter V4 S Black is billed 23,390 euros, or 200 euros more expensive than the Red. A detail that Ducati does not emphasize this time…
