New Triumph Daytona Moto2 765 Limited Edition
Exclusive Moto2 motorist since this season, Triumph took advantage of "its" British Grand Prix 2019 to lift the veil on – the limited edition – the Daytona 765! Hinckley’s firm considers it to be its most successful sports bike… Presentation.
As the new official engine supplier for the mid-size Grand Prix class (the Moto2, yes), Triumph could hardly do without – any longer! – a sports car in its range … The English manufacturer has decided to launch a new Daytona, in limited edition.
, this new sports motorcycle approved for the road will be produced in 1530 copies: a batch of 765 machines for "us" (well, Europe and Asia, including 90 for France), a second for North America … So there won’t be something for everyone.

At the heart of this new Triumph beats a 765 cc 3-cylinder, based on that of the Street Triple RS (128 hp max as a reminder) but provided with parts and components developed for the Moto2 racing machines (more than 140 hp d ‘after the English)…
"Titanium intake valves, stronger pistons, DLC coated stud pins to MotoGP specifications, new cam profiles, new intake trumpets, modified connecting rods" are some of the hardware changes made to the "Tripeul", in complement to a "software" reconfiguration.
In the end on this brand new version of the "seven-seventy-five", the compression ratio peaks at 12.9: 1, the maximum speed rises by 600 revs compared to the RS (13,250 r / min therefore), the maximum power reaches 130 horsepower at 12,250 rpm and torque 80 Nm at 9,750 rpm.
Ranked among the "roadsters" on the official website (for lack of a better way!), The Daytona Moto2 765 therefore becomes the most efficient sports car ever produced – in a limited edition – by Triumph … since the Daytona 955i! As a reminder, the Superbike developed 149 hp and 98 Nm in 2006. But its part-cycle would no longer be the "weight" today !
The best performing Daytona, but not the most powerful
When it comes to the chassis, the Hinckley engineers have taken care of the simplest – and most efficient! – since the Daytona Moto2 765 takes the elements of the Daytona 675 R: aluminum frame and swingarm, Ohlins NIX30 suspension at the front and TTX36 at the rear.
The 2019 novelty still offers a new pair of cast aluminum alloy five-spoke 17-inch wheels: they would be "the lightest in the category", if we are to believe the English. Likewise, the Dayto 765 is adorned with the latest fashionable calipers: the Brembo Stylema.
Like all modern Triumphs, the Daytona Moto2 765 is full of technology: color TFT dashboard and multifunctional controls with joystick making it possible to juggle, for example, between the five driving modes (Rain, Road, Rider, Sport and Track) which adjust throttle response, traction control and ABS. She also receives a series quickshifter, "up and down, of course" !
The full fairing of the new Daytona uses the lines of the old one but not its material: the Moto2 approved model – and road! – is made of carbon fibers, in order to lighten the racing beast as much as possible … on the road too, with Peter Hickman at the controls ?!
Still from an aesthetic point of view, we note that the new Dayto differs from the Street Triple 765 by its more prominent exhaust, Moto2 style … and more vociferous? We dare not imagine an improvement in the acoustics, as the song of the "Stripeul" is already sumptuously heady !
The Daytona Moto2 765 will be offered at the beginning of January in French dealerships and in a unique Black, Gray and Silver color (the touches of red are for the US market "only") directly inspired by the "Union Jack" livery of the development motorcycle Moto2 engine. Two unknowns remain: what is its weight, what will its price be? MNC is investigating. Stay connected !
