S2 Concept is inspired by the preparations that were all the rage in England in the 60s and 70s to revisit the Suzuki Gladius: stripped of a few parts and equipped with equipment typical of Cafe Racers, the Spirit 70 is an attractive alternative.

Based in the south of France, the S2 Concept company creates and markets accessories for a number of two-wheelers. Specializing in exclusive styles and looks, the French structure was largely inspired by the Cafe Racer trend to unveil a refined version of the Suzuki 650 Gladius.

This transformation, skilfully carried out, could perhaps help boost the commercial results of the replacement of the SV 650: struggling against its rivals (in November 2009, 95 Gladius found takers against 312 ER-6n), the Suz ‘suffers from some youthful flaws (damping, comfort and finish in particular) and a nice line but a tad overloaded (read our).

To reconnect with the spirit of English preparations, S2 Concept therefore engaged in a basic but good quality accessorization: the essential strap handlebars screwed onto the upper yoke are happily matched to a lighter rear part of the passenger handles and which incorporates the license plate holder, lights, approved turn signals and the name "Spirit 70".

Centerpiece of Cafe Racer preparations, the original exhaust outlet gives way to a conical element from LeoVince which aesthetically clears the view of the stick rim.

Finally, the adoption of a perforated aluminum plate revealing the lattice frame and less bulky radiator scoops complete this preparation which renews the performance of the Japanese twin as is (72 hp and 6.4 mKg of torque). Available at S2 Concept, this particularly successful Cafe Racer kit also has the good taste of not playing (too much) the elitism card: 1200 euros per kit assembled are necessary to leave with this Gladius 650 Spirit 70.
