Suzuki GSR: call me B King !
In addition to the new GSX-R 600, GSX-R 750 and Bandit 1200, Suzuki is presenting a preview at the Mondial du deux-Roues at Porte de Versailles with a superb GSR 600 roadster (pronounced "GSR tout court" according to the manufacturer). Discovery.

In 2001, the concept bike B King unveiled by Suzuki (read) made the motorcycle world dream thanks to its aggressive and refined line and the promise of the engine of the formidable GSX-R 600. It seems that the GSR presented today at the World Cup, be the commercial realization of this prototype.
The design of the machine is resolutely innovative compared to the rest of the brand’s range: superb rear shell with double optics, Yamaha R1 style 2002, surrounded by two exhaust outlets under the saddle. Visually, the whole can evoke both MV Agusta and Triumph, with the rear of the new Sprint ST and its three outlets under the saddle.
The cycle part reveals a perimeter frame in aluminum alloy with an original reinforced swingarm. For braking, a dual 310mm disc will be fitted to the front, while a dual 240mm disc will also be fitted at the rear. Finally, the Bridgestone radial tires fitted to the motorcycle presented at the show confirm the rather sporting vocation of the GSR. The available colors will be matt black, blue, gray and red.
On the engine side, the engine block from the GSX-R 600 makes the GSR (with the R, the brand’s sporting symbol) a roadster with strong character, especially as the mapping has been revised to adapt to the roadster and deliver more torque at low revs. So we have to do with a 4-cylinder in line 599.4 cm3 and 16 valves, with liquid cooling and electronic injection 38 mm.
On the other hand, preview obliges, the precise performances of the roadster are not communicated to date. The engine should nevertheless develop a hundred horsepower for performance at the level of the competition, although Suzuki also announces a limited version at 34 horsepower. !
While the marketing is scheduled for next December, the price has not yet been defined and will be communicated in mid-November. Asked by Moto-Net, the spokesperson for Suzuki France believes he will oscillate "between 6,500 and 7,500 euros"."It all depends on the adjustment against the Yen", explains Pierre-Laurent Feriti who intends to sell it"about 4,000 per year".
With this new model, Suzuki makes a remarkable entry into the naked mid-capacity roadster market segment. The Japanese brand will resolutely hunt on the land of the Yamaha FZ6, whose front optics are very similar, the Honda Hornet 600 and the Kawazaki Z 750, three models whose big sales in France whet the appetite of competitors. ..
