News - When MV Agusta meets Yacouba ... it's Bestial (e)! - Second hand MV AGUSTA

On the MV Agusta stand, right in the middle of the Brutales and the F4s, the "Bestiale" slipped. Baby of the French designer Yacouba Galle, it represents the 2008 Italian novelty! Interview with the happy dad with overflowing imagination…

When one of the most prestigious Italian manufacturers, MV Agusta, joins forces with the most offbeat French designer, Yacouba Galle, the result is, to say the least … Bestial (e)! Discovery.

Who said that the 2007 Mondial du deux-Roues was without surprises? Admittedly, most of the novelties have already been presented to the press several months in advance (read our), due to the relentless race that the manufacturers are engaged in to surprise the first.

When MV Agusta unveiled its own novelties, right in front of the Site stand, few of us were betting on an upheaval: not that the Italian factory does not present interesting motorcycles, but if its exceptional motorcycles draw their lines. in the brilliant stroke of the pencil of the designer Massimo Tamburini, these have not changed or little for ten years.

The prerogative of works of art, predestined for artistic immortality? Not so sure ! Because against all expectations, the Italians responded favorably to the request of the French designer Yacouba Galle who wanted "take up a major challenge".

His proposal? Realize a concept on the basis of 910 Brutale, by bringing out to the maximum the aggressive side of one of the most beautiful roadsters in the world … This objective, the ex-journalist of Motorcycles and Bikers Fills it in two months – an achievement given the constraints! But the stakes are high: since his reconversion in 2006, the 29-year-old artist has created a fun and quirky program with Franck Donzelli ("TrashTest" on AB Motors), while wishing to put his talent at the service of builders.

Yacouba in the line of Lazareth? "No, because it is more technically oriented and I only design", confides to us the one who had ensured the clip of promotion of the KTM Superduke in 2004. And we can say that the bet is successful: MV was very curious to know the vision of a French designer on his machine and the reactions of the public.

After only a few days of exposure, success seems to be there and the "Bestiale" – "to echo the name Brutale, while adding a fierce connotation", explains Yacouba, is unanimously appreciated.

Its robust and manly front, its truncated rear part: everything bears the touch of Yacouba, including the white livery and the "Tribal" stickers. Sacrilege for purists? No, because the result sticks to the elitist and ultra sporty image of the Italian brand: the marriage of xenon lighting, short exhaust and carbon elements gives the 910 a youthful look … without distorting the ‘original !

"At no time did I intend to redesign the Brutale. I am attached to the MV image and it is simply my extreme vision of the concept, the one I would like to have in my garage", modestly admits to us the creator of his own clothing brand.

Extreme is the correct adjective! So did MV not impose limits on the designer? "I had carte blanche", he confirms:"at no time did I send them photos during the production. I arrived with the finished product !".

An unsuspected daring at MV Agusta but which is bearing fruit, to such an extent that one begins to dream of commercialization … "Why not in the form of kits, depending on the impact of the show", Yacouba tells us."So far, I’ve had very positive feedback on the Bestiale and I think MV Agusta is a brand that must evolve. Behind other manufacturers go very quickly, like KTM, and the biker likes the renewal: it is necessary to continue to dream !", concludes the one who buzzes with projects.

With MV Agusta of course, with whom he wishes to continue his collaboration, but also with all the other manufacturers who want to make an impression … On your phones, gentlemen! To be continued…
