Human slav,

We, your friends and colleagues at Motor Presse Stuttgart, first and foremost the editorial offices of motorradonline.de and MOTORRAD, are shocked and infinitely sad. On July 31st, on a bike tour, you dismounted. Pushed your bike, passed out. And didn’t wake up again. We cannot understand.

In 2014 you joined the editorial team at motorradonline.de as a trainee and have been an editor in our team since 2015. Above all, you were the haven of peace in the midst of noisy hotheads, which you always missed when you were not in the editorial office for once The void your death leaves will always remain. Gigantic. In our hearts, in our heads and in the office.

Who is listening to us now and quietly thinking his part? Who creates their stuff calmly and with dedication, does their job and a lot more, without making a big noise about their commitment? From you we learned how to laugh heartily at yourself. You showed us how strong it is to flirt with one’s weaknesses. We remain beginners. Because the master has died.

But you weren’t all relaxed, calm, and thoughtful. Just as unerringly you could really knock one out. For example, when you confidently and calmly asserted: “I am learning Spanish within a year.” That alone was a bold thesis. But you went one better. Your bet: a navel piercing. Young! We still tell the story to each other. And still have to laugh at tears.

We don’t know anyone like you. Not even one who comes near you. Man, Slawo! Slomo, Mozarello, Nurziwohl, Ragazzo, Nurzi! You are the man of 1000 nicknames. And said we don’t even know a fraction of your nicknames. We feel like we didn’t even know a fraction of you. You have been in so many groups, clubs and teams – whether playing tennis with your wife, as a sweeper on the pitch, having a cabin beer with your team, with bruises in the ski club, fishing on the Neckar or on a motorcycle tour with your cousin – you had just more hobbies than time.

You had countless friends and close contact with your family. Your family wasn’t just your parents, your sisters, your cousins, your uncles and aunts. Above all, that was Julia, your wife. You made yourselves nice – on vacation, on the weekends, but also every day when you saw each other after work.

33 years – that is far too short a time. But you filled them well. And we are so happy to have met you. And grateful that you have enriched our lives with your personality. You were our friend and colleague. A person we really liked, valued and respected. We will miss you sorely.

Slawo, we love you. Take care. “Una cerveza por favor!” – this is our farewell greeting. The only Spanish sentence we can all speak. Thank you!

Your friends and colleagues
