Practical guide to motorcycle travel in Europe
With the opening of its borders, Europe offers a wide variety of landscapes to French bikers. However, if entering another country is easy, the rules of the road and driving may vary. To guide you, Site takes stock.
Luxembourg at the heart of Europe
Among the founding members of Europe, the archbishopric of Luxembourg is easily revealed thanks to its small surface area and its good road network. Its proximity to Germany and Belgium makes it a privileged stopover – not only for fiscal "optimization" – while the remains of the fortress and the old town of Luxembourg (classified as a UNESCO World Heritage Site) deserve a deviation.

And the least we can say is that with nearly a million visitors per year, Luxembourg attracts tourists! Classified as the safest city in the world, Luxembourg is also a wealthy agglomeration (17th out of 350 world cities in terms of quality of life) in which luxury cars are quite common. The hottest months are July and August and the sunniest May and June.
The traffic is rather clear but the controls are frequent, especially since the long straights are numerous! The priorities are on the right, the speeds are the same as in France (except in pedestrian and residential areas limited to 20 km / h) and it is forbidden – day or night – to honk except in the event of imminent danger. Finally, parking is strictly controlled and the penalties are severe for offenders. In particular, it is prohibited to park within five meters of pedestrian and cycle crossings.
