Road rallies - 75th Rallye de l'Ain: Julien Toniutti, number Ain! - Shortened night ...

One more victory for the pilot KTM official site Julien Toniutti on KTM 690 Duke R, at the end of an “ underwater ” Rallye de l’Ain where we find two site pilots on the first two steps of the podium. Wet record.

Shortened night…

For the night, it is therefore planned to do a large loop followed by a smaller second. While the rain in the plains has not stopped, the wind accompanies it, more and more violent, in the mountains…

After some hesitation on the part of the race management regarding a possible modification of the night stage, it was finally decided to launch the stage as planned..

The start is therefore given a little half an hour late, there are many withdrawals and only 57 pilots will participate in this night stage..

It is 10 p.m. when number 1 takes the road to Challes … It’s raining, it’s wet, it’s a frog party for Julien Toniutti who still scratches the special and, this time, 2.64 seconds ahead of Mickael Porcu ( 1’36.89 against 1’39.53). Still exhilarated by his scratch in the last special, Nico Pautet is third in 1’40.11.

For my part, I took the 11th fastest time, a dozen seconds from the scratch, 6 tenths ahead of the Ducati 1200 Multistrada of Franck Coudert, the winner of the .

Come on, let’s continue with the Ceignes special: Julien Toniutti’s KTM 690 Duke R roared again and set the best time in 1’37.59. The "cat" Pautet Crazy Nico is on a cloud (the fog is also plunging on Ceignes …) and takes a second time in 1’39.25 on the handlebars of his Husaberg 650 FS.

The third time goes this time to Florent Derrien on KTM 690 SM in 1’40.88. A small score error of one minute during a CH during the daytime stage will cost Florent 15 seconds of penalty … Too bad for him, he will thus lose the final scratch podium of the rally, since the third step for him escapes for a dozen seconds.

Bad plan for Mickael Porcu and his Husaberg 570 FS: he made a mistake on a minor exit from the road but lost about thirty seconds in the mishap. If the rally victory was still possible there it is clear it is no longer !

It’s also beating hard in 125: the young Sarthois driver Tanguy Brebion on his KTM 125 Duke sets himself better times than his rival Michel Bonneau in these last two specials and thus returns in front of him in the general classification of the rally..

Already the road connection of the course was not easy during the day, this night, in the rain and the violent wind, it is even more delicate … Still in the wheel of my "pilot fish" Eric Dubuc , I spit in the gloves to try to join the CH de Poizat on time! But it’s wasted effort because after 59 minutes of an intense fight spent slaloming between landslides on the road, earthy parts, gravel and holes, Jacky Guillemoz, the president of UM Ain himself, awaits us hanging on at the CH barnum in a paraglider way to withstand strong gusts and tell us that everything is stopped !

It is therefore by convoys of 10 or 15 pilots that we reach Cerdon by the most direct route at the stroke of midnight.

The stage and its two specials are however validated, as is the two-stage event for the French championship. Good operation therefore for the pilot Official site KTM Julien Toniutti who wins the event: he now has a 75 point lead in the general Elite classification of the championship. It could not be better installed for the rest of the events.

For his part, Nicolas Pautet finished second in the rally. He thus pocketed a jackpot of points which put him in third position in the provisional Elite classification, tied with Franck Coudert, the driver of the Ducati 1200 Multistrada n ° 18.

A great victory for Site in the team classification as well, thanks in particular to the two top riders of the Journal moto du Net, Julien and Nico, who could well become the two best riders in the French rally championship this year. !

The Cup for this team victory is solemnly presented by Marcus Himself to Gilles Bernard (Tecnoglobe) after the award ceremony with John Messerli, the centerpiece of this 75th rally of the Ain by his "hyper active" participation in this perfect organization. The Gilou de Tecnoglobe, who is there for a lot in the success of the pilots of the Journal moto du Net thanks to his unparalleled and omnipresent assistance, before and during the races: he fully deserves this award. Thanks again Gilou !

UM Ain organized a great rally for us, unfortunately cut short by disastrous weather conditions but which took place without a hitch or particular problem..

There are three rallies left to complete the 2013 championship, and the next meeting is scheduled for June 8 and 9: this will be the fifth Morvan rally (where motorcycle reconnaissance will be authorized!), Fifth round of the French rally championship road 2013 which will take place in Sevrey (71) and Saint Jean de vaux (71) … not to be confused with the round of the Provence mountain championship (motorcycle hill climb) organized by the Avignon motorcycle club in Calves (84) on Sunday June 2, 2013! Because even if several rallymen plan to go there and beat lap times to keep control, the Côte de Veaux has nothing to do with the Morvan Rally … So to avoid running everywhere: stay connected !
