Road rallies - Sun Rally 2011: hell under the sun! - The top pilots in attendance

As expected, the 2011 French road rally championship starts off with some twists and turns: Pierre Mouneu falls heavily and forfeits, the Corsicans make a sensational entry and Maxime Mettra wins the race ! Story.

The top pilots in attendance

On the side of the favorite riders, we find Maxime Mettra of the Team Site (KTM 950 Supermoto in the colors of the BATIBAT houses, of the Loiret general council, of the KTM Technik Moto dealer in Orleans, of Scorpion, Ixon and the Corsican Boucle Atelier 20 in Sagone, Pierre "Moon" Mouneu on his Husaberg 650 (his "semi-official" Yamaha 450 YZ is not quite ready) or the local Wilfried Tallone on the Ducati 1100 Hypermotard. But it will also be necessary to reckon with the presence in strength of talented Corsican pilots !

Stephane Ricciarelli (Yamaha 450 WRF), winner of the Rally de Corse 2010, is also present, as is the young and sympathetic Paul-Christian Piazza, aged 22 (Husaberg 570): two serious clients for the victory of this first Sun Rally !

As for the newcomers, note the presence of Dominique Subias, a former competitor in hill climbs in the 90s, who after several years of stopping competitions decided to discover the discipline of road rally by registering for the championship on a Yamaha 125 WR. Objective: the title of the new 125 4-stroke category which still has too few competitors.
