CF Moto 700 CL-X: three neo-retro motorcycles with Chinese flavor

Chinese manufacturer CF Moto is launching a new range made up of three versions of classic-looking motorcycles: the 700 CL-X Adventure, Heritage and Sport which are powered by a unique 692 cc parallel twin. Presentation.

Instead, CF Moto presented a new platform of neo-retro motorcycles: the 700 CL-X, available in three different variants from a stylistic and equipment point of view. The 700 CL-X Heritage cultivates a scrambler look with its brown leather saddle and raised handlebars, although its low silencer spoils the picture a bit..

The 700 CL-X Adventure shows off a little wind, saddlebags and spoked rims to suggest possible escapes without altering its look – quite successful incidentally, with this round LED optic in an "X" trim as well as its tank scoops with air inlets. The compact looks and visually flawless finishes also work in favor of these three bikes..

Finally, the 700 CL-X plays the cafe racer card with its half-handlebars fixed under the triple clamp, its seat cowl and its mirrors mounted "upside down" at the end of the handles. Each receives instrumentation in the form of a single round digital dial displaying speed, engine speed, gear engaged, fuel level and two trips.

New engine

The propulsion is provided by an in-line twin of 75 hp and 67 Nm "newly developed for the 700CL-X", explains the manufacturer. This new 692 cc engine – controlled by an electronic accelerator – is obviously a rebored version of the 649.3 cc block found in particular on the 650 NK roadster..

These three novelties receive a tubular steel trellis frame, a perforated swing arm, a brake caliper in J. Juan radial position and a pretty inverted fork with adjustments on the caps. An anti-dribble clutch, a USB socket under the saddle and a standard cruise control complete the enticing endowment of these motorcycles announced for "183 kg dry".
