Stoker Motorcycles: Custom bike of the Suzuki SV 650
Suzuki SV 650 conversion
The upcoming winter project from Finland
Suzuki SV 650 – mobilizer for entire generations. Then as now, living slightly in the shade. The perfect basis for a custom bike because it is technically solid.

I bet a lot of people thought straight away: “Suzuki SV 650. Oh, right. Great little bike.” And if not, because the soul of its successor, the Gladius, is slightly saddened, it should be said anyway: It is precisely these Japanese high-volume mopeds that are perfect for a custom bike and that fly well below the radar of everyone. A great custom future is also that Yamaha Fazer 600 and the Honda Hornets predicted. But before search orders are placed in the used portals: Let’s first see what Stoker Motorcycles from Finland have done with this round frame SV from 2000.
Stoker SV 650 tracker
Round frame SV. It is therefore clear: Here carburetors determine the mixing of fuel and air to produce ignitable products. Furthermore: No ABS or other electronic interference with the redesign of the Suzuki. The new design from Stoker is determined by the new monocoque consisting of the tank cover and seat. Antii, one of the makers behind Stoker, re-shaped both from GRP. To do this, he had to reduce the size of the Suzi’s series tank in all dimensions so that it fits under the cover. Antti finds himself under the same pressure at the rear: he had to rebuild large parts of the rear frame so that the lines fit.

Lowered Suzuki
Nevertheless, the baseline of the Stoker-SV turned out to be too high. Antii lowered the chassis so that the tracker doesn’t look like a half-baked enduro. In front he pushed the fork a little further through the bridges, in the rear he used a shortened shock absorber from a Kawasaki ZX-10 R. Both measures bring the tank-seat line into the water. In the also revised fork and that of the standard swing arm, the standard 17 continue to rotate”-Wheels that make a disc wheel with screwed covers.

New front, new style
At the other end of the fork, Stoke give the SV a completely new look. Style-defining: the number plate with integrated headlights, which is screwed very close to the steering head. Behind it there is no more space for the Suzuki cockpit and even the narrow speedometer from Motogadget is running out. For more control when drifting, Antii has moved the new extra-wide handlebars with swept-back risers back and the footrests forwards. The entire conversion is rounded off by a titanium double muffler on a Y-collector from Stoke and a massive aluminum engine spoiler.

Many are beautiful, but also impassable.
Better to leave it in its original condition.
Conclusion
A well-hung SV 650 with a round frame starts for a good 1,000 euros. Condition: renovation necessary. A chic, not too expensive custom bike should come out quickly over the winter. Author’s Plan B: The Holden’s gladius in the garage “as a present” remodel. It already has injection, ABS and is paid for. One thing is clear: DIY shouldn’t be as complex as the Stoke tracker, but the landmark has been set. Here we go.
