ABS can fail

Suzuki has to recall around 8,700 machines from the GSX-R 1000 R and RZ series. A faulty IMU sensor unit can lead to failure of the ABS.

B.Vehicles from model year 2017 and 2018 are affected by the recall. According to media reports, faulty communication between control units and low battery voltage can lead to ABS failure. The inertia sensor and the ABS unit are affected. In the event of a malfunction, the driver is warned by a warning light in the cockpit.

Suzuki himself could not be reached for comment. The recall is listed on the manufacturer’s homepage under the code 97EZ with the exchange of the IMU sensor unit.
