Suzuki 750 GSX-R SE 2014

Menus

Little by little, the GSX-R range is adorned with special versions, soberly called SE. Frankly tuning in the 1000 GSX-R livery, more sober and more elegant at the Hayabusa 50th anniversary, the Special Editions stir the eyes and restore appeal to a category in constant decline. The 750 GSX-R is presented here in an undoubtedly classy red and black dress, strongly inspired by the GSX 1300 R Hayabusa SE mentioned above.

Is this a stock GSX-R that has had two coats of paint smeared on? No, the machine comes directly from the Hamamatsu factory. It will be distributed in most of the markets where the manufacturer is present. Like most of the special series, this one plays part of its added value on its low circulation: only 25 units for France. Requiring a budget extension compared to a standard 7 and a half Gex, the SE offers you this two-tone finery, red piping on the rims, red lettering on the Brembo monobloc brake calipers, and a few anodized parts. : in red for the fork tube caps, in “copper gold” for the central steering nut, the chain tensioner and the fork sleeves. A red saddle ends its escapades.

Until the starter cranks the 148 horsepower 4 cylinder. Even if the 750 GSX-R today only interests a handful of enthusiasts and / or nostalgics, it defends a formidable potential and a rare homogeneity. Sporty efficient without being unmanageable, its assistance is limited to an electronic steering damper, the S-DMS to choose two injection maps and a limited slip clutch. For the rest, it’s up to the driver to do the job with a chassis that has nothing more to prove and knows how to defend itself in all circumstances. This Special Edition awakens somewhat a category that suffers from two pitfalls: sports are no longer in fashion, and repression has rarely been so strong…
