Motorcycle jacket with leather and textile

The Rukka Melfort is a chic all-round jacket in retro style, which should be suitable for a wide variety of conditions. The first test reveals how well this works.

The Melfort can be found on the Rukka website in the “Urban & Lifestyle “, but it could just as well be under” Touring “. Thanks to the Gore-Tex membrane, wind and water are reliably kept away from the body, and the front zip was also absolutely leak-proof in the test.

All-round jacket in a classic look

The two inside pockets protect your smartphone and documents from the elements. Four outside pockets offer plenty of space, but are only water-repellent. A tight pocket accessible from the outside is missing and would have been desirable in practice. Otherwise there is nothing wrong with the Melfort. When it’s cold, the removable inner lining is welcome, from 15 degrees outside temperature it is only needed by real frostbite.

The Melfort is not a summer jacket, but you don’t have to worry about sweating up to around 25 degrees. The generous ventilation openings extend over almost the entire side area and ensure good cooling of the Gore-Tex membrane. Visually, the jacket fits into that of Rukka Selected category: The large leather reinforcements on the shoulders and elbows give it a classic look. The Rukka Melfort is available in black and brown.

Noticed positively: Versatile, high quality workmanship

Noticed negatively: No waterproof outer pocket

Sizes: 48 to 62

Price: 559 euros

MOTORCYCLE Rating: 4.5 stars out of a possible 5

Strong result for Rukka Melfort. The all-round jacket is versatile and has a high quality finish. There are no waterproof outer pockets for perfect test results – but the Rukka jacket is still recommended.
