After a motorcycle accident, every second counts: With the new SOS app, Triumph is introducing a system that detects accidents, validates emergencies and, if necessary, initiates a rescue as quickly as possible. For this purpose, the smartphone application specially tailored to motorcyclists constantly monitors the most important sensors in the smartphone. Since the system only uses smartphone technology, it can also be used by non-Triumph drivers.

Fast emergency call

The emergency system is hosted in the Google cloud and transmits its data to the emergency services as soon as an accident is detected and confirmed via a unique validation process. Among other things, the precise GPS position, the direction of travel, motorcycle details and medical information are transmitted. In this way, the rescue workers can quickly reach the scene of the accident and provide help. Sophisticated security protocols should reliably prevent false triggering. Speed or telematics data from the motorcycle are not recorded or transmitted.

Subscription costs around 5 euros a month

The Triumph SOS app can now be downloaded from the app stores for iOS and Android and used in Europe and other countries such as Great Britain, the Republic of Ireland, North America, Australia and New Zealand.

Before using it, however, Triumph has packed a price barrier. Triumph owners benefit from a three-month free trial. Otherwise, the subscription fee in German-speaking countries is 4.99 euros per month. The service is automatically extended by a further month, but can also be canceled monthly without additional fees, for example in the winter months.
