Triumph 1050 Tiger Sport 2016

During its metamorphosis in 1050, the Triumph Tiger had taken on a much sportier orientation than the 900/955 model. Suddenly, it was difficult to assume the role of trail-GT within the range..
The 1200 Explorer now offers a truly maxi road trail offering, the Tiger can thus fully satisfy its muscular desires.. This episode rightly takes the name SPORT and evolves in the direction of enthusiastic driving.

Another Tiger, another design? Not exactly: the silhouette is very similar but a lot has changed, giving it a subtly more pronounced dynamism. What is it? More racy side fairing panels, a revised fork crown housing lighter and more efficient headlights, a well-polished rear, and above all, the adoption of a single-sided arm finished with a superb rim perfectly clear and oh so agressive. Let us point out other small changes: the engine guard, the triangle indicators, the material of the saddle, the sculpted footrests, the colored saddle seams, various aluminum elements, the engine casings, the handlebar protections, etc….

Without changing the mill, the English tiger gains a level of XP and shows grumbling. Its 3-cylinder gains 10 horsepower and a little over half a mkg. With 125 horsepower in the vilo and one more tooth at the rear crown, the gain in acceleration, times and sportiness will be notable. As a bonus, consumption is announced down 7%. More watts for less thirst, no one will complain. Triumph took advantage of the engine tampering to improve the gearbox and make it smoother. The braking, with large discs, 4-piston radial calipers and braided hoses, is equipped with the latest ABS on the market.

It is called Sport only because it has more horses and a single-sided arm? No, because it has also revised its geometry, its suspension and its ergonomics. Caster angle tightened by half a degree and wheelbase a little longer, handlebars slightly lower, this announces a more pronounced feeling in the direction of the steering without sacrificing stability. Damping benefits from new springs and valves. When it comes to seating and welcoming the crew, the longer saddle has been slimmed down on the front, goes down 5 mm (830 mm now) and invites the passenger to be seated lower, therefore better protected by the driver’s back. PS: nice red stitching.
The left stalk has also been modified to be able to control the dashboard without letting go of the handlebars.

The Triumph Tiger Sport 1050 does not ignore travel. Its rear loop allows the grafting of larger cases as an option. They can accommodate a full face helmet and 10 kilos of freight each.
This update wisely replaces the Tiger, offering a more playful alternative to the Explorer and the Trophy. .
