Top or bottom? Breast or club? Nitro or electric? Textile or leather? Since the first cotton was dipped in a wax bath in England, important questions in human history, especially the latter, have been asked by the two-wheeler of the world.
When it comes to outerwear for motorcyclists, the question of whether textiles or leather has been answered for years: everything is possible, nothing is required. On the foot, the answer was basically always: leather. The reasons for this are likely to be: wearing comfort, stability, resilience, weather resistance, prestige and protection in the event of a fall.
Abrasion-resistant textile fiber
Vanucci is now reversing the signs with the new touring boot VTB 23. The main material of the VTB is an abrasion-resistant textile fiber, which is reinforced with plastic or suede in areas relevant for a fall. These reinforcements are important because the boot is CE certified according to EN 13634: 2017 and is therefore considered protective clothing. For a pleasant “work atmosphere” provides a Sympatex membrane in the VTB 23. The new VTB 23 is available from Vanucci for just under 200 euros in sizes 38 to 47, online or in a trusted Louis branch.

Conclusion
Vanucci’s beautiful approach to the VTB 23, which promises a high level of comfort and also spoils the comfort zone of the wallet in terms of price. The shop side of the boot at Louis causes frowns. Here a hint suggests that the Sympatex membrane in the VTB would only work in combination with a functional sock – which is of course available separately – where this is stated in the technical data “breathable” is prominently placed.
