This time, for sure: Sylvain Guintoli will be piloting the official Aprilia RSV4 alongside Eugene Laverty in 2013! The Frenchman joins the reigning world champion factory structure with the heavy task of succeeding Roman Emperor Max Biaggi. A hell of a promotion with in focus the world crown in World Superbike !

"I am really happy because my first contact with the bike was good from the first few meters", commented the Montelimar rider who will be celebrating his 31st birthday in June..

"Syl" indeed had the opportunity to take the handlebars of the official RSV4 during tests organized in Jerez, tests in the form of testing during which he was extremely competitive (read).

“Being able to sit in the saddle of the world champion machine is a huge opportunity for me – one of the most important of my career. I think the bike has huge potential, as we have seen these last years, and I am confident in my capacity to obtain excellent results on his handlebars ", ambitions Sylvain who concluded, yesterday, the third and last day of tests in Jerez in fourth place with a best lap in 1 ‘ 41.239 behind Laverty (1’40.185), Sykes (1’40.400, unofficial stopwatch) and Fabrizio (1’40.956). 

Author of a superb 2012 season with the Ducati 1198 (one pole and seven podiums including three victories), Sylvain Guintoli amazed the whole paddock: on the one hand by demonstrating in a beautiful way his ability to play in front, on the other by showing a foolproof mind and admirable stoicism when changing teams along the way (read our).

"Sylvain is a real added value for our team and we are delighted to have him among us", assures Gigi Dall’Igna, technical and sports director of the Aprilia team..

"We have the world champion bike and two riders able to glean the best results. I think we will have fun in 2013", assures the Italian, whose objective is of course to keep the world crown..
