We were expecting Checa and his Ducati of course, but also the Yamaha of Laverty and Melandri, or Haga and his Aprilia, even Sykes and his Kawasaki … Finally, Jonathan Rea signed the Superpole at Magny-Cours on his Honda! Guintoli qualifies in 5th place, Berger in 13th…

The n ° 4 Honda Ten Kate rider was the fastest this afternoon on the Nevers Magny-Cours track. Jonathan Rea signs a new official record (1 ‘37.490) and will have the right to place himself in front of all his little comrades on the starting grid for the two races of tomorrow !

Eugene Laverty will settle in 2nd position ahead of the future world champion Carlos Checa! Indeed, the Spaniard should have no problem scoring the three points that still separate him from the title. Marco Melandri on the contrary, will have more difficulty to win in the two rounds…

Qualified in 8th position on the grid, the n ° 33 of the Yamaha team will have to make his way in the middle of riders for some a little slower than him in absolute terms on the French track, but terribly efficient in the race such as Haslam (7th) and Camier (4th).

Between these two Leons, Sylvain Guintoli and Tom Sykes will be closely watched. The first, our national n ° 50, rides at home and has a revenge to take on the 2010 edition: starting from 2nd place on the grid, he was disqualified in the first round, then deprived of the podium by Fabrizio in the last meters !

The second pilot to watch is Sykes. Besides his very aggressive riding style – it’s all bottom or all on the ground with him! -, the Ninja n ° 66 is eager to demonstrate that his Kawa ‘and him work as well under the German downpours as under the French dodger.

In Superpole 2 – when Sykes was already breaking Crutchlow’s record – Maxime Berger managed to beat Troy "Mister Pole" Corser. Our second national representative finally qualifies in 11th position behind Joan Lascorz and his Kawasaki…

At the top of this third row is Noriyuki Haga. The man with five victories at Magny-Cours will have to get off to a good start tomorrow, then spit in the gloves – but avoid "crashing" at all – to fight at the forefront !

Jakub Smrz, usually very comfortable in the qualifying phase, was part of the Superpole 1 cart. He will start from 13th place ahead of Michel Fabrizio, Mark Aitchison and Ayrton Badovini. Javier Fores and Roberto Rolfo will start, as planned since the end of the second qualifying session, from the last two places on the grid.

See you tomorrow at noon to follow, almost live, the penultimate round of the Superbike World Championship. The World Supersport will also be on the program … Stay tuned !
