Jules Cluzel and Kenan Sofuoglu start better than their little comrades. Kenan turns inside Jules in the first sequence and comes out on top. The two very strong men in the championship are ahead of Lorenzo Zanetti, Patrick Jacobsen, Gino Rea, Fabbio Menghi, Marco Faccani, Kevin Wahr, Roberto Rolfo, Christian Gamarino, etc..

Cluzel passed Sofuoglu in the middle of the first lap and opened a breach for his pursuers. Zanetti takes advantage of a gap of the Turkish in the break of Curvone to post the second official MV Agusta in front of the Kawasaki n ° 54. Jacobsen and Faccani also pass Kenan !

Cluzel completed the first lap in the lead ahead of Zanetti and Jacobsen. Sofuoglu quickly climbs to fourth position. Faccani momentarily leaves the track while Rea (Gino, not "Johnny"), Menghi and Gamarino let Sofuoglu slip away in the next two laps….

After this particularly hectic start to the race, Cluzel calmed things down by turning slightly slower than Zanetti and Jacobsen, who settled in his wake, but not quite in his aspi. Sofuoglu on the contrary, attacks and signs the fastest lap in the race on the 3rd lap to join the leading group.

Jacobsen breaks the lap record in the race on the 4th lap and climbs to second position. Cluzel beats the American’s time in the next loop and keeps nearly a second ahead of "PJ" and Lorenzo. Kenan is slow to get into the aspiration of MV Agusta n ° 87…

A superb battle for fifth place took place eight seconds behind the leader "Julo": the English Rea was threatened by Menghi, Gamarino and Russo. He is also chased by Faccani, Baldolini, Rolfo and Cardenas. Six Italians … and one Colombian !

Ahead, Cluzel continues his race alone … and hopefully non-stop! Jacobsen is still a small second ahead of "our" n ° 16. More than three seconds behind, Sofuoglu is up to Zanetti and overtakes him with authority in the 11th lap.

But Lorenzo didn’t say his last word and put the brakes on Kenan at the end of the short pit straight. In doing so, the Italian allows his French teammate to nibble three additional points on the Turkish‘s comfortable lead in the championship (40 points).

Jules Cluzel goes on fast tricks and gradually moves away from "PJ" Jacobsen. Unless there is a technical problem, this seventh race of the World Supersport 2015 is promised to n ° 16. Conversely, the fight between Zanetti and Sofuoglu resumes with a vengeance two laps from the end….

Kawasaki rider n ° 54 overtakes MV Agusta n ° 87 and tries to take off: the two men attack to the maximum! Lorenzo fails to get out on too heavy braking: the F3 shakes him badly … but it is the ZX-6R which throws Kenan just in front of the Italian, in an irrecoverable "lowside" !

Jules Cluzel wins a magnificent victory, his second in a row and the third this season. It is in the closed park that he learns that his enemy n ° 54 has fallen and that he has finally scored only four points. "Julo" can thank Lorenzo for pushing Kenan to the limit !

Patrick Jacobsen can be delighted with his second place: suffering from compartment syndrome, the New York driver will undergo surgery next week and will be even sharper for the end of the season. Remember that the Supersport riders will not be racing at Laguna Seca and will be back at Sepang in early August..

There are therefore four races to go, that is 100 points maximum to collect for our Jules Cluzel, second in the championship 20 points behind Kenan Sofuoglu. At 40 points behind the Turkish leader, Patrick Jacobsen remains in the race for the title. Mathematically Zanetti, Rea, Rolfo and Smith are too.
