New service bike for the US police
The Yamaha FJR 1300 has been used in police operations around the world for years. Now it should also serve as an emergency bike for the US police officers.
The has been running for years Yamaha FJR 1300 with the additional abbreviation P with police specifications in Japanese Iwata off the assembly line. A standard police color and police equipment are then on board. This includes heated grips, protective bars on the front paneling and in the area of the pillion footrests, a storage compartment for the radio system that replaces the pillion seat, a height-adjustable driver’s seat cushion, an ABS brake system, signal horns in the mirrors, an operating module on the handlebar for police signaling devices, a external battery connection, a height-adjustable windshield and side case. The national Yamaha branches then take care of the additional country specifications.

In many countries, the FJR has long been used as a police bike.
After FJR 1300 models are already on the road in countries such as Australia, Great Britain, Spain, the Netherlands and also Germany as a government agency, Yamaha is now entering the US market with the FJR 1300P and would like to supply the local police authorities directly.
In a special authority test by the Michigan State Police in October 2017, the big Yamaha was able to outperform all competitors. The FJR convinced with its speed, its driving stability, its handling and also on the brakes. In this test, the Yamaha competed against a BMW R1200, a Harley and an electric bike from Zero.
