In Yamaha’s line of green machines, the WRs are authentic endurance sports machines. Suffice to say that if this 125 with the profile of a supermotard announces this first name, it must have solid arguments. First there is this line and this spirit, inspired by the WR 250, very sporty, aggressive, which returns the XTX 125 to the rank of toy. The 4-valve single-cylinder engine could not be more modern, with liquid cooling, state-of-the-art injection, and 15 hp at 9,000 rpm. If it comes from the sports car YZF-R 125, the exhaust and intake are adapted for better response to normal revs. The gearbox is also identical, except at the level of the last report.
With its 17-inch rims fitted with sport tires and 210 and 230 mm suspension travel, the WR-X is indeed a supermot. Valuable, lively, the machine seems ready to pounce. In addition to a good quality front end (41 mm fork, 298 mm brake disc), the Yam does not forget the nice little details, like the footrests with the big grip as on the competition machines, the folding selector, a large 140 rear gommard, or the body-colored painted frame.
Since 2011, the WRX 125 is more accessible, optimized with a lowered saddle, with softer foam, a new fork and rear shock, and a modified side stand..
Recall campaign in February 2017: Yamaha has decided to proceed as a precaution to replace the brake pedal on its 2014 WR125R and WR125X..
On some machines, a defect in the brake pedal welding could, in extreme cases, cause the brake pedal to break when a significant force was exerted. To remedy this, Yamaha has therefore initiated a recall campaign which consists of replacing the brake pedal..
Machines concerned:
• WR125R model 2014 (22BB) with serial numbers between DE071 0020349 and DE071 0020944.
• WR125X model 2014 (22BC) with serial numbers between DE072 0027932 and DE072 0028630.
That is to say, a total of 80 machines concerned for the French market. Customers who own these machines have been notified by registered mail in order to have this intervention carried out free of charge..
