With these 2 new models, Boxer amazes us again and again with its creations. A little gem of Thierry Henriette’s workshops, the SSR is both a superb sports car and a good size roadster – No need to have both because one can be transformed into the other: in 1 hour and 2 turns of the hand , you can drop the fairing, put on the passenger equipment, attach radiator scoops and a screen. And Abracadabra, here is the sporty SS transformed into a roadster R. It’s hard to resist the charms of its machines and their attractive peripherals: Brembo brakes and radial controls, Ohlins suspensions, carbon elements, beautiful parts on all floors (the tachometer is in itself a small wonder) and mechanical features. The swingarm acts both as an oil reservoir (as on the Buells) and as a battery holder. The presence of large tranquilization chambers (very well integrated) under the engine allows megaphone-type exhausts such as can be seen on MotoGP machines. The frame is a minimalist trellis fixed to aluminum plates. It contributes to the refined appearance of the Boxer while allowing a minimum weight, less than 180 kg.
The small French manufacturer has not yet made its choice on the engine. It will be either the V2 Voxan increased to 130 hp or the Aprilia RSV 1000 R engine with 139 nags.
If the price manages to contain itself within the announced range, between € 14,000 and € 15,000, the SSR will become a devilishly tempting device..
