Van Beveren ready for pass 3 ?

With his two consecutive victories at Le Touquet in, Adrien Van Beveren is logically the favorite to his own succession on his official Yamaha.

The young Camille Chapelière, vice champion of sand races 2015 and leader of the 2016 season, will also be to watch, just like Milko Potisek…

Announced among the registrants, freestyler Tom Pagès had planned to enter the Top 10 for his first Touquet, but must finally forfeit following a shoulder injury caused by a fall in training.

Too bad, because many were curious to measure the real potential of the French motorcycle acrobat, more used to back flips and other very aerial aerobatics than to the sand course. Pagès had indeed shown a certain talent for the discipline by finishing 14th out of 500 in his first sand race, the Gurp TT, last January.. 

Enduropale du Touquet route

Similar to last year, the 2016 layout features whoops, chicanes and banked corners. Remember that in accordance with its new format, the Enduro du Touquet takes place only on the beach, and no longer in the neighboring dunes..

The start of the Enduropale moto is brought forward to 11:45 am (instead of 1:00 pm) and will be done in two stages (in two waves, not with cylinders with holes!).

The first 599 will start first, then the others will start 30 seconds later. Same thing for quads. The goal is to avoid the famous "bottleneck" at the end of the long straight line, on which the fastest will try to pocket the holeshot bonus.

Enduro du Touquet on television

As every year, the Touquet Moto Enduro is broadcast live on France 3 Nord Pas-de-Calais and France 3 Picardie from Sunday at 11:25 am. On the website of the France TV group channel, the race is also broadcast in streaming and without interruption from start to finish. 

On pay channels like L’Equipe 21, the quad and motorcycle races are broadcast live, respectively on Saturday from 12 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m..

Former French crossman Mickaël Pichon will be commenting, which promises an interesting analysis. 

The Motors TV pay channel will also broadcast the event but after a delay: the Enduro moto will be broadcast on Saturday evening at 8:40 p.m., followed by the Quaduro at 11:25 p.m..

Reruns are also scheduled for early next week.

Often disturbed by rain and cold – even snow a few years ago! -, the Enduro du Touquet is not an easy race to manage due to the season and its proximity to the sea. This year, small scattered rains are expected from Saturday afternoon. 

These "showers" could still be present on Sunday, accompanied by a wind of between 30 and 60 km / h and gusts to 70 km / h. Good news for the pilots, but especially for the 200,000 spectators expected: the announced temperatures will oscillate between 7 and 11 ° C, just enough to keep the aperitif cool. !
