Aprilia SMV 750 DORSODURO Factory 2010

Menus

Lighter, more efficient, more fun…. The first two arguments are those of all Factory versions of Aprilia (RSV-R 1000, Tuono R, RSV4); a notable optimization to raise the level of machine efficiency one step further. The third is for the sassy side of the machine.
In turn, the fiery supermoto Dorsoduro is available in a Factory version. Impossible not to suspect that this version is hot-blooded: the red frame barely concealed under the black dress betrays a bubbling temperament. To earn the Factory designation, an Aprilia must meet certain criteria. It starts with the adoption of carbon fiber parts. On the SVM 750, it is the front fender, the large side scoops, and most of the tank trim that benefits from the nobility of this material.

Second point, the suspensions. Factory sets are normally fitted with Ohlins components. But that’s not the case on the Dorsoduro. Small disappointment, because the prestigious designation made us believe it. This does not mean that the fork and shock absorber remain standard. They are here fully adjustable, in preload, compression and relaxation. The basic version is not entitled to as much attention to fine-tune its handling.

With this toy, we now have something to do seriously. The 92 hp twin is whipped by a triple mapping control box and Ride by Wire injection. The new petal brake discs are bitten by Brembo 4-piston radial calipers. On the chassis side, the Aprilia technique does not suffer from any criticism, except somewhat in terms of damping, which this Factory version should correct. Allow around 800 euros more for this Dorsoduro Factory, and an envelope of 600 euros more if you want ABS (planned for September).
