Everyone is talking about scramblers. Ducati could also come up with a new scrambler variant at this year’s autumn trade fairs. On the occasion of our speculation, we dug out a concept study based on the Scrambler Desert Sled from Concorso D’Eleganza Villa D’Este (2017).

It won’t be long before the manufacturers delight us, like every autumn, with the presentation of new models. Ducati will also certainly present us some new bikes at INTERMOT and EICMA this year. In order to increase the anticipation, we have in this article an already well-known and not necessarily brand new, but definitely worth seeing concept study based on the Ducati scrambler Dug out Desert Sled. 

New scrambler variant in the starting blocks?

The concept study was presented to the public in 2017 at the Concorso D’Eleganza Villa D’Este, where it took third place in the “Motorcycle Design – Concept Bike and New Prototypes” category. The concept bike was developed by Ducati Design Center. A concept bike from Ducati also took first place in this category: the Ducati Cafe Racer prototype was best received by the jury at the time. Also this year there were some futuristic concepts to marvel at at the event. Especially those of BMW presented Concept 9cento had caused quite a stir.

First place at the Concorso D’Eleganza Villa D’Este 2017 went to the Ducati Cafe Racer prototype.

The first series Desert Sled was presented at the EICMA in Milan in autumn 2016. We could definitely make friends with a new version of the Desert Sled, which will hopefully be based on the concept study. Ducati has not yet made any suggestions regarding new bikes for the 2019 model year, but new versions of the Ducati have also regularly appeared at previous trade fairs Scrambler out. And since other manufacturers like Triumph are gradually jumping on the “scrambler train” with the new Scrambler 1200, another variant, for example based on the large Ducati Scrambler 1100, could make sense. We are excited to see what the 2018 editions of Intermot in Cologne and EICMA in Milan will have in store for us.
