For the first time since the beginning of the corona pandemic a year and a half ago, the authorities are allowing an unlimited event due to the low incidence figures. The spectators also have free access to the paddock and camping is allowed on the large meadow. On the only natural race track in Germany, the clock is set back to old times – with the hope that the future will look different and that COVID-19 will no longer stand a chance.

“We hope the news that everything will run like the last event in 2019 will quickly make the rounds”, says IDM series manager Normann Broy from Motor Presse Stuttgart. “The open paddock and direct contact with the drivers make the racing weekend in Schleiz even more attractive. The IDM in particular is known for enabling spectators to be close to the pilots. For us it would of course also be gratifying if the fans make use of the offer, as in the past.”

All IDM classes at the start

The IDM classes Superbike 1000, Supersport 600, Supersport 300 and Sidecar start on the Schleizer Dreieck. They are framed by cups in which the young and experienced pilots fight for points. Local heroes Julian Puffe (Superbike 1000), Philipp Stich (Superstock 600) and Micky Winkler (Supersport 300) should be in the spotlight. The three Schleizer belong in hers “green living room” podium candidates in their respective categories.

Entry prices unchanged, access to the paddock

There is an eagerly awaited reunion with Markus Reiterberger. The three-time IDM Superbike 1000 champion intervenes in the premier class with a BMW on his favorite track and will contest all other championship races in 2021 with the exception of Assen. The Bavarian is the lap record holder on the Schleizer Dreieck.

One more piece of good news: the entrance fees remain unchanged. Admission on Saturday is 19.00 euros, on Sunday 25.00 euros. The weekend ticket is 35.00 euros. All tickets include access to the paddock. Admission is free for young people up to and including 17 years of age.
