Centrifugal clutch for the sports tourer
In order to offer even more comfort, MV Agusta equips the new MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800 Lusso SCS with an electronically controlled centrifugal clutch in combination with a mechanical transmission.

Start and stop without having to pull the clutch – that’s the promise of the Italian motorcycle manufacturer MV Agusta with the new MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800 Lusso SCS. SCS stands for Smart Clutch System and represents an electronically controlled centrifugal clutch. The centrifugal clutch was developed by the US manufacturer Rekluse. Corresponding systems have been in use for years in enduro and cross sports because they make it virtually impossible for the engine to stall.

Clutch lever is almost superfluous
The centrifugal clutch system works in a similar way to a motor scooter: when accelerating, the SCS automatically ensures a smooth grip from a certain speed when the gear is engaged. In contrast to an automatic converter or a dual clutch transmission, the MV Agusta system does not change gears automatically. The driver is still in demand here. With a quickshifter on board, gear changes can also be carried out without using the clutch. If you want, you can completely save yourself having to use the clutch lever on the new MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800 Lusso SCS. At least almost, because the clutch must generally be pulled to start the engine.
MV Agusta
The centrifugal clutch ensures a smooth start.
Since a gear is never engaged when the engine is not running, MV Agusta has equipped the Lusso SCS with a parking brake. This is activated with the right foot and released with the foot brake pedal. The SCS also sets itself apart visually: the entire system can be viewed from the outside through a clutch cover made of transparent Lexan.
The 798 cm³ in-line three-cylinder, which is now homologated in accordance with Euro4 and delivers 110 hp and 80 Nm maximum torque, has been slightly modified in the area of the valve control, the gearbox and the balancer shaft. With SCS, MV Agusta promises a sprint time of 3.2 seconds (first gear reaches over 100 km / h) and a top speed of 230 km / h.
The MV Agusta Turismo Veloce 800 Lusso SCS is available for prices starting at 20,690 euros. This means that the SCS version is 1,940 euros more expensive than the normal Lusso including Quickshifter.
