As part of the Euro 5 adjustments, Royal Enfield’s twin models Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650 each get 5 new paintwork.

In terms of market share lays Royal Enfield steadily increasing in Germany: 74.6 percent growth in 2019 and 57.9 percent in 2020. At the end of 2020, the Indian motorcycle brand had a 1.9 percent market share. To classify: market leader BMW is at 20.4 percent, Triumph at 4.6 percent and Moto Guzzi at 1.3 percent. To ensure that Royal Enfield’s market share continues to grow this year, the Interceptor and Continental GT not only have the Euro 5-compliant 648 cm³ twin-cylinder, but also lots of new colors.

Royal Enfield Interceptor in 7 colors

For the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650, a total of 7 color variants are available from model year 2021 – 5 of them are new: the single-color variants are called Canyon Red and Ventura Blu, the two-color variants are called Downtown Drag and Sunset Strip and the updated chrome version is called Mark 2 The latter is an ode, according to Royal Enfield “reminiscent of the original Interceptor 750 and is reminiscent of the heyday of California’s sun-drenched culture in the 1960s”. The colors Baker Express and Orange Crush are still available.

Royal Enfield Continental GT in 5 colors

The Royal Enfield Continental GT differs from the Interceptor in that it has a lower handlebar (clip-on handlebars), a different tank and a different seat. Here, drivers sit much more crouched and more front-wheel oriented. The Continental will be available in a total of five new colors in model year 2021: Rocker Red and British Racing Green will be reissued, Dux Deluxe and Ventura Storm are completely new and the chrome version is called Mister Clean.

Blackened rims optional for everyone

In addition to the new paintwork, the blackened rims will also be available for the single-colored Royal Enfield Twins from model year 2021. So far, they have only been available for the two-tone versions.

Apart from the Euro 5 adjustment, there are no technical changes. The Euro 5-compliant 648 cm³ in-line twin-cylinder develops 48 hp at 7,150 rpm and 52 Nm at 5,150 rpm.

Conclusion

Royal Enfield is well on the way to gaining further market share in Germany. New colors and rim options for the two 48 hp Interceptor and Continental GT bikes certainly don’t do any harm.
