The fuel cap can leak

KTM is recalling all 690 Duke and 690 Duke R models from model year 2016 onwards. Tolerance deviations can cause the tank cap to leak and fuel to escape.

KTM calls all 690 Duke and 690 Duke R models from model year 2016 onwards. The system consisting of the fuel tank, tank filler neck and seal on the filler neck can leak due to tolerance deviations during production. As a result, fuel can leak.

A new tank filler neck with a modified seal should provide a remedy. The seal on the fuel level sensor has also been modified and will be replaced as part of the recall. The holders are from KTM informed by post and asked to go to the workshops with your motorcycle. The necessary workshop stay is estimated at around 40 minutes and is of course free of charge for customers.

690 Duke recall in North America 2017

In the summer of 2017 there was a very similar recall for the KTM 690 Duke / R (model year 2016 and 2017) in the USA and Canada: At that time it was also said that fuel could leak in the area of ​​the fuel filler cap. Over 1,000 dukes were therefore asked to return to the workshops. In Europe, on the other hand, there were no official recalls on this topic; instead, reference was made to the different fuel qualities of North America and Europe.

Brembo recall

For the R version, the KTM 690 Duke (from model year 2015) the callback on the subject of brake pistons: The plastic piston of the Brembo radial brake pump can break under extreme loads and thus lead to a loss of braking force on the front wheel. The same goes for the 1290 Super Duke R and 1290 Super Duke GT.
