Recall Yamaha MT-03, YZF-R3 and Nmax 125
Serial number does not match

Yamaha is recalling some of the MT-03, YZF-R3 and Nmax 125 models. The reason is a serial number that may not match.

This is a rather exotic reason for recall: On some Yamaha motorcycles, the serial number on the production label, i.e. the sticker, may not match the serial number engraved on the chassis – also known as the frame number.

Because of this, started Yamaha a recall campaign in which all owners of the affected motorcycles are contacted. Your Yamaha dealer will then check whether the serial numbers match.

These Yamahas are affected by the recall

A total of 5,434 machines are affected. In the following list you can check whether you and your Yamaha should also do number matching:

  • Nmax 125, model 2019, code BV3C, type SEC71, serial number 0031321 to 0049000
  • Nmax 125, model 2020, code BV3H, type SEC71, serial number 0049001 to 0063398

How do you feel about recall?

It’s annoying, but ultimately I benefit from it as a customer.

I feel insecure and I lose confidence in the technology / the manufacturer.
