Brake light switch causes problems

Yamaha has had to recall various motorcycles and scooters to repair shops because of a possible problem with the brake light switch. The cruise control can fail, the brake light shines continuously.

Yamaha has to recall the models FJR 1300, XT 1200 Z, MT-10, MT-09 Tracer GT, Niken and the scooter TMax due to a possible defect in the front brake light switch. A total of 11,083 vehicles are affected by this recall in Germany.

Oxidation can cause increased resistance at the brake light switch. As a result, the cruise control may fail or the brake light may light up continuously. When visiting the workshop, the Yamaha Depending on the model, between 30 minutes and 1.5 hours, the affected models are equipped with a new brake light switch. The campaign is free of charge for customers.

Yamaha requests all owners of affected vehicles to contact their dealer as soon as possible to arrange a workshop appointment.
