Actually, mainly new cars and concepts with four wheels are presented at the Geneva Motor Show. From time to time, however, there are also two-wheelers to be seen at the major auto show in Switzerland, as in this case the new electric two-wheeler concept from Skoda. With the Skoda Klement e-bike, the Czech manufacturer wants to show in which direction it could go in the future. According to the company, the new two-wheeler concept is supposed to combine puristic design, modern technology and easy handling and thus enable sustainable micro-mobility in the city.

Skoda has also provided some information on the technical equipment. The Czechs equip the Klement with a futuristic-looking aluminum frame. The wheel suspensions are single-armed. Particular emphasis was placed on the hidden pulls and levers. The driver’s feet find their place on fixed pedals. The e-bike is set in motion by tilting the foot pedals. The wheel hub motor, which has an output of up to 4 kW on the rear wheel and should therefore reach a speed of up to 45 km / h, accelerates as soon as the weight is shifted forward on the pedal. It is braked by a hydraulic disc brake including ABS. During the braking process, energy should also be generated by recuperation.

It remains to be seen whether this new mobility concept will actually be implemented by Skoda. However, it is not unlikely that car manufacturers will also develop new and innovative solutions for sustainable micro-mobility in the city. BMW also had last with the X2City electric kick scooterpresented a new electrical concept for use in the city, which can be ordered as a series model since the beginning of March.
