The Pierer Mobility Group, which in addition to KTM also includes Husqvarna and GasGas, already had its Future roadmap for electric drive concepts firmly planned. Now Husqvarna presents the E-Pilen Concept, a first real electric study.

KTM boss Stefan Pierer has already stated several times that in the near future he will only see electric powered two-wheelers in urban environments. And this is exactly what Husqvarna E-Pilen is paying for now. It is clearly designed as a two-wheeler for commuters and recreational riders. Inspired by the design of the Vitpilen and Svartpilen models, with the study the brand offers a vision of what its future step into electric urban mobility with the E-Pilen concept will look like.

8 kW power, 100 km range

The electric motor of the E-Pilen sits on the swing arm, has an output of 8 kW and thus places the two-wheeler in the area of light motorcycles. The final drive takes place via a conventional chain. The range is given as 100 kilometers. In the opinion of Husqvarna, completely sufficient for city traffic and commuter routes in urban areas.

Husqvarna takes an open approach to the battery system. The E-Pilen can be implemented with exchange modules or a permanently installed energy storage device. for corresponding exchange systems, KTM has already entered into a partnership with well-known competitors. for Battery systems have been consulted with specialist Varta teamed up. The E-Pilen concept has a modular and exchangeable battery system. The individual battery elements can be removed through the dummy tank. If you follow the brand’s well-known model timetable, the series version of the E-Pilen will come as early as 2022.
