The R 1100 S is the sport model of BMW boxers. Sport with half-word because the Teutonic is more typical sport-GT VFR way that pure juice with the sauce CBR. However, BM has created a cut reserved for this model: the Boxer Cup, in order to reinforce the sport image of this machine.. From one of the competitors, BM took the decoration of this Replika: blue and white checkered on the fairing, sport shoe, blue rims, and the detail that kills: carbon cylinder head covers with a start of wear (fake ) at the angle that rubs the bitumen – when you send big. Beautiful, certainly, but not more playful (or quite as much) than the S which she only puts on a jogging.
The only technical change concerns the length of the shock absorber springs. The bike is comfortable, with a slightly sporty stance. The BM does not happen right away; you have to discover it and get used to it. The box is nice but not very fast. The mill does honor with its 98 hp. His character and his length are very nice, especially between 3,000 and 5,000 trs. The main strength of the bike is also and above all the remarkable balance of its chassis, superb compromise between comfort and efficiency, associated with great stability.
