A motorcycle that the fire brigade can use to extinguish fires? Sounds a bit exotic. But just such a model was presented with the BMW R 1250 RT-P Firexpress at the Secura 2019 in Algeria.

The BMW R 1250 RT-P Firexpress presented at Secura 2019 in Algeria is not the first model that has been specially designed for the fire service. The previous model, the R 1200 RT, was also available as a “fire engine motorcycle”. Further models for the public service were also presented at the Algerian security fair. New for example are an F 850 ​​GS and a G 310 R intended for police use.

In addition to the fire department BMW, a few other models were presented at the security fair in Algeria.

Water tanks hold 50 liters

In purely technical terms, the Firexpress does not differ from the basic model apart from the fire extinguishing elements. The special features can be seen at first glance. The paintwork matches the colors of the fire brigade. Otherwise, the water tanks and the 30 meter long hose are noticeable. Two interconnected water / foam tanks are used, which hold a total of 50 liters.

Otherwise, the BMW R 1250 RT-P Firexpress should be particularly suitable for use in busy cities. Large fires cannot be extinguished with 50 liters, but the fire brigade should arrive at the endangered destination much faster with a motorcycle in dangerous situations – especially if there is a jam on the streets in built-up areas.
