The German motorcycle manufacturer Horex, questioned by MNC at the end of September during the Intermot show in Cologne about its, has just announced its disappearance "in its current form" for lack of buyer…

"Motorcycles need passion"…

Horex recently explained to Site that it had "a lot of requests, but not enough weight with our suppliers to have the parts needed to assemble the motorcycles." And while its leaders were counting on a thousand motorcycles per year to achieve balance, the brand had only sold "300 since November 2012".

Today, Horex concludes its adventure by quoting Helmut Werner Bonsch, former director of product planning at BMW in the 1960s: "Motorcycles need passion, it is a craft for engineers who have remained young in their hearts"…

"If we see even the slightest spark of luck that we can continue in this spirit, we will do so without hesitation for a second," Horex assures us..

While the recently relaunched company with its had until the end of November to find "one or more investors, preferably from the automotive or motorcycle industry", it must now close its production site based in Augsburg (Bavaria ) and dismiss all of its staff (around twenty people).

“Last Friday at 10 am, the Horex team was in shock: all employees and all management were made redundant as of November 30, 2014 and the production site in Augsburg closed the same day,” announces the manufacturer in specifying that "without its collaborators, the Horex company ceased to exist".

"No commercial or logistical activity can be ensured"

According to some members of the Horex team, there would be "people interested in a possible buyout, but nothing has been set yet and at the moment no commercial or logistical activity can be ensured".

"We believed in taking over a large part of the original team, because the know-how and commitment of the Horex team is in our opinion essential to be able to continue", conclude the employees, ensuring that ‘they remain mobilized to seize "all the opportunities that can lead Horex to success".

Finally, Horex thanks all those who have supported it for ten years in its "fight for the establishment of a second German motorcycle brand".
