Vanucci is the brand of the German equipment manufacturer Louis, offering a range of technical and stylish clothing. The VC-1 are mid-season gloves encroaching heavily on moderate winter use.

Discovery
Designed for road use, the Vanucci VC 1 have a discreet aesthetic. The careful design of its various components gives them an attractive aesthetic. Their construction combines black Cordura reinforced textile and more broadly Allcura goat leather on the upper hand and calfskin on the palm. This receives reinforcements (thenar and hypothenar eminences), one of which is made of abrasion-resistant SuperFabric. No protective shell, but lots of padding at the knuckles of the fingers and top of the phalanges. A bit tight in my opinion. We might have wished for more substantial reinforcements on this last point. The advantage is thus maintaining greater ease without compromising security.

Because comfort is a good point of these VC 1. They incorporate a Primaloft thermal lining and an OutDry climate membrane. These two materials combine to guarantee both warmth and impermeability to wind and water. And of course the construction welds all these layers to the outer part. Clearly, the interior stays in its place when you remove your hands! And this is far from being the case with all gloves, especially in use. However these hold in time.
Gussets on the back of the hand, fingers and thumb finally ensure optimal flexion.

A long, wide, ergonomic cuff houses the wrist and adjusts via a Velcro tab. An additional easily graspable strap ensures good tightening at the wrist. Finally, Vanucci has long incorporated a conductive material in the thumb and forefinger for the use of smartphones and other touch screens.
Also, a visor wiper is fitted to the left index finger to make it easier to clean the screen in the rain. And what could be a gadget comes in handy when it rains.

Lined with microfiber, the interior is soft and feels padded. Although a little thick, the gloves are still flexible. Only the upper reinforcement is, as quite often with Vanucci, a little stiff at the beginning. He relaxes a bit afterwards, but still remains quite firm. Even with wet hands, the liner stays in place when removing the gloves, which avoids a certain annoyance that we know with other pairs..

Thicker than its IV touring glove counterpart, the VC 1 has a wider spectrum of use in the season. It also maintains good finger agility and correct touch. We handle the commodos without worry, but piloting a “Sena” or “Cardo” type system is less obvious..
Relatively warm, they protect your hands down to 0 ° C or less. Below, we can add thin inner gloves to push the limits. Conversely, we will leave them above 10-12 ° C if we ride with heated hand guards or grips. Their resistance to frost is very good and their impermeability is correct. The seal is very good and durable, proving the quality of the membrane. But overnight drying is necessary after intensive use in the rain. Don’t forget to take care of your leather with dedicated products (especially natural wax – horse riding department, etc.).
