Demanding, uncomfortable, sharp, expensive, exclusive, these models only thought of the track and the stopwatch, not your back. The CBR 600 F was something else. The 4 cylinder actually goes back to its origins, because it is a 2007 CBR 600 RR mill just suitable for roadster use. And 100 horsepower is more than enough to indulge yourself in a 600 sports car – there is even a way to scare yourself off when you sag. Above all, it gives you the right foot to discover the sport. My favorite magazine when I was young implied that the CBR 600 was almost a sport-school motorcycle.
Its specific cartography, much less exclusive than it is necessary for a tracker, should give it more roundness and responsiveness. Hey, those who are fed up with living between 13,000 and 15,000 rpm are starting to listen.
Taking the basis of the Hornet roadster, the CBR 600 F opus 2011 will therefore offer road behavior very close to it. Its backbone frame and less radical geometry will take you away from the chrono spirit for a more road-going style at high speed. The inverted 41mm fork will seem perfectly harmless to you, while the brake calipers will seem like they are from another era (not so old though). Calipers with 2 pistons, and fixed axially. What ? No radial? Are you sure your CBR is a sportswoman? Hey oh, guys !!! Remember that just 10 years ago not a single bike on the market had radial calipers; not even an R7 at 27,000 euros.
And worse today, you can have sport-like ABS on your machine. This is also the case here, where C-ABS is an option – in this configuration the calipers are no longer gold but painted black. 3 pistons instead of 2 are installed in the front jaws.
Like a good everyday sportswoman, the new CBR 600 F has raised half-handlebars to relieve pressure on the handles. The passenger seat is more welcoming and it is even possible to fit a U under the saddle. It is equipped with a new fully digital dashboard, a coded HISS immobilizer and softer suspensions than the CBR 600 RR (which is quite logical….). By the way, who is that said history is just an eternal restart ?
