BMW driver Markus Reiterberger drove a 1: 41.448, followed by Danny de Boer with a 1: 42.874 (also BMW). Pepijn Bijsterbosch on Yamaha follows with a 1: 43.050. Dominic Schmitter is the fastest Suzuki driver with 1: 43.845, guest starter Wayne Tessels is the fastest Kawasaki driver with 1: 44.675 and Jan Halbich is the fastest Honda driver with 1: 46.161.

2nd free practice (August 11, 2.15 p.m.)

Markus Reiterberger (BMW) punches a 1: 39.353 in the TT Circuit of Assen, Danny de Boer (BMW) follows with a 1: 40.642, Pepijn Bijsterbosch (Yamaha) with a 1: 41.301. The fastest Kawasaki driver is guest starter Wayne Tessels with the ninth fastest time of 1: 42.088, followed by Suzuki driver Dominic Schmitter with a 1: 42.351.

1st timed practice (August 12, 10 a.m.)

Like the two practice sessions, the German Markus Reiterberger dominates the 1st qualifying of the IDM Superbike 1000 on his BMW. The big difference between practice and qualification times is due to the changed weather conditions – it’s raining: 1: 56.617. As in the practice sessions, the Dutchman Danny de Boer (BMW) remains behind in P2: 1: 57.329. The Swede Jari Touvinen follows on his Yamaha with 1: 57.360 on P3, the Austrian Stefan Kerschbaumer (Yamaha) with 1: 57.547 on P4 and the German Kawasaki rider Lucy Glockner with 1: 57.680 on P5. The best Suzuki driver is Vittorio Iannuzo, who is in P8 with 1: 58.015. Honda driver Jan Halbich from the Czech Republic lands on P25. He drove a 2: 02.109 in the first qualifying.

2nd timed practice (August 12, 1:35 p.m.)

In the second qualifying, the track in Assen dried up more and more and the drivers were battling the fastest times lap after lap. Relatively high humidity and the performance of the drivers really ensured steam, tension and temperatures here. Reiterberger on the BMW made it exciting to the end and burned his fastest time in the last qualifying lap on the Dutch asphalt: a 1: 40.773!

Next to him on the starting grid are Danny de Boer (1: 42.249) on BMW and Pepijn Bijsterbosch on Yamaha (1: 42.677). The fastest Suzuki starts with Vittorio Iannuzo (1: 42.779) from P4, the fastest Kawasaki with Fraser Rogers from P5 (1: 43.098), the fastest Honda starts with Jan Halbich from P11 (1: 43.748)

Warm Up (13.8., 11.00 a.m.)

The warm-up of the IDM Superbike 1000 leads – no surprise – Markus Reiterberger (BMW)! The only question is – how far ahead? Florian Alt (Yamaha) sets the second fastest time with a difference of 1,067. Jan Buhn (BMW) with a 1: 41.750 on P3, Bastien Mackels (Yamaha) with 1: 41.824 on P4 and Dominik Vincon (BMW) with 1: 42.142 on P5. Lucy Glockner is the fastest Kawasaki driver with a 1: 42.706 on P7, the fastest Suzuki on P8 with a 1: 42.756 from Vittoria Iannuzo, the fastest Honda driver is Jan Halbich with 1: 42.973.

1st race (13.8., 12.40 p.m.)

Danny de Boer alone could have beaten Markus Reiterberger in Assen. But after the IDM Superbike 1000 front runner had again made a dream start and was the first to turn into the first corner, the case was already settled again. Reiterberger raced towards his sixth win of the season. De Boer could almost keep up, but when the Dutchman fell, there was no competition for Reiti. The Bavarian won with a margin of 23.947 seconds. “With Danny behind me it would have been exhausting,” said Reiti, referring to his team-mate at VanZon Remeha-BMW. With Florian Alt, a driver from the Yamaha works team finally made it onto the podium again, before another BMW driver, Pepijn Bijsterbosch, climbed up and said: “That was a must for me at the home race.”

Yamaha rider Bastien Mackels, who had been on the track for too long with wet tires in practice and later struggled with an electronics problem, worked his way up from 16th on the grid to fifth. Suzuki hope Vittorio Iannuzzo, fourth in training, crashed and did not finish. Luca Grunwald got the coals on the new GSX-R 1000 out of the fire. Jan Halbich remained inconspicuous in eighth position on the Honda Fireblade SP2. But there was a crash at Lucy Glockner: The fast lady had her sights on third top ten place on the Kawasaki ZX-10R, but got in the way of all things with guest driver Fraser Rogers from Great Britain. The brand colleague competed in the BSB and is currently racing in the Superstock 1000 EM. Wayne Tessels, the Kawasaki guest driver from the Netherlands, did not finish either. (Anke Wieczorek)

2nd race (13.8., 3.45 p.m.)

In the second run the field was thinned out a bit. Guest driver Fraser Rogers from Great Britain was missing. Lucy Glockner unfortunately cleared him away with the fall in the first run. Marc Buchner was also not at the start. He wanted to compete in the Supersport 600 and Superbike 1000 on the Assen weekend, but the double role did not succeed.

We could rely on Markus Reiterberger again, who this time was even more satisfied than after the first run. With win number seven of the season, he had only switched once at the beginning, had briefly slammed his helmet against the windshield from the recoil, but then he was able to shake off his opponent Danny de Boer without any problems. After one lap, the Bavarian had a lead of 0.858 seconds. On the podium he was ultimately surrounded by two Dutch riders: Danny de Boer and third Pepijn Bijsterbosch. The latter made sure that there was no complete BMW show at the award ceremony and that, like in race one, a Yamaha rider stood on the stairs.

he race was stopped prematurely with the red flag. Bijsterbosch had lost oil and fell himself. Furthermore, Stefan Kerschbaumer, Dominic Schmitter, Koen Zeelen and Lucy Glockner were hit. The lady had done so well in the race and made her way from 14th starting position to sixth place on the first lap. There is not much time to think about it. This coming weekend, from the 18th to the 20th, the IDM Superbike 1000 will take part in the Superbike World Championship at the Lausitzring. (Anke Wieczorek)
